Leather Island

Leather Island by Bill Lavin was formed out of Lavin's love of vintage belts and his never-ending quest to find them. Lavin would scour flea markets in search on belts from the '40s and '50s, which he would then rework and sell to Fred Segal.

Word eventually got out about his finds, and Bill found himself on the receiving end of phone calls from A-list celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Madonna. It was at this point that he decided to take a new direction, and Leather Island was born. Each belt that is made at Leather Island goes through an extremely complicated aging process to give it that special retro look.
